• MEET THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

We need to meet the dog.

Before a dog becomes a Member, we want to get to know them. The Committee is considerably more interested in personality than pedigree.

A thoughtful introduction.

The Wagsworth Welcome Assessment is an introductory visit designed to help us understand your dog’s comfort, communication style, social preferences and individual care needs. It is not an obedience audition or a test of whether your dog is “good enough.” We want to know whether our Club is a good fit, and what will help your dog feel at home here.

Before You Visit.

We’ll ask you for the basics, including health and vaccination records, care history and the little things only you know: favorite activities, sensitivities, previous daycare experiences and dogs they might prefer to admire from a distance.

During the assessment.

Plan for approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on your dog. The visit may include time to settle in, gentle interaction with caregivers, exploration, enrichment, observation of body language and recovery, rest and carefully managed dog introductions when appropriate.
We never force a social introduction just to check a box.

Afterward.

We’ll share what we learned and recommend a sensible next step. That might be a suggested social group, Care Track, individual enrichment or a gradual introduction. Sometimes the right answer is that Wagsworth isn’t the best environment for a particular dog right now, and we’ll always be honest about that.
We’re not looking for perfect dogs. We’re looking to understand yours.
